Full description

This series provides access to local men recruited to serve in the armed forces in World War 1 and 2.

Each card contains the persons name, rank or rating, address on enlistment, name, address and relationship of next of kin, date of enlistment. Each card also contained a five digit number which also has a prefix XV./ The cards also gives the branch of the armed forces into which the person enlisted, usually the army. Some give details of the person's fate eg Died while a Prisoner of War or Discharged while on overseas service
