This series consists of Public Record Office Victoria Records Description Lists (RDLs) for various series, mostly related to land files.

Crown Lands and Survey Files RDLs

In order to produce the Catalogue of Crown Lands and Survey Files on microfiche, various details about each land file in the relevant series were captured on specially prepared forms (data entry sheets) for data entry into a computer database. This data was then sorted in various ways and from this the microfiche catalogue as generated.

It is hard to know if the data sheets will be required for another project in the future. For this reason they have been set aside for review.

Other RDLs

Some other RDLs have been placed in this series as they contain more detail than do the subsequent versions of the lists. The accuracy or completeness of the superseded lists has not been verified in the process. They have been retained in this consignment, a review consignment, in case the extra detail is found to be useful at a later date.
