Full description

This series is comprised of the general correspondence files of the Victorian Water Supply Department (VA 2787) concerning the supply of water to Geelong and the surrounding areas. These records were apparently transferred to the Geelong Waterworks and Sewerage Trust (VA 873) subsequent to its formation in 1908. Until the time of the Trusts establishment the Victorian Water Supply Department had the responsibility for the control and management of the Geelong Water Supply scheme.

The records in this series contain details regarding the formation of the Geelong Waterworks and Sewerage Trust as well as regarding the provision of water supply to Geelong.
