These records relate to the activities of the Tobacco Growers Investigation Committee and the Tobacco Growers Relief Committee. Following upon a poor season in 1961, funds were made available for relief payments to affected growers. These records relate to applications for which relief was granted and files for which assistance was not granted. Files contain completed application forms from growers, lists of applicants and some copies of correspondence and minutes of the committee.
