Full description

The Port Phillip Sea Pilots were formed originally as companies under the overall regulation of VA 4179 Pilot Board of Victoria and, from 1888, VA 1424 Marine Board.

The Pilots Superannuation Board was also directly associated with the Marine Board, with the Secretary of the Marine Board serving also as the Secretary of the Pilots Superannuation Board. This series consists of letter-press copies of correspondence sent to the Department of Trade and Customs regarding the payment of Sick and Superannuation allowances, to the Treasury concerning the financial management of the fund and to claimants and contributors.

This series was previously registered as part of Unit 17 of VPRS 562/P Correspondence Records.
