The Port Phillip Sea Pilots were formed originally as companies under the overall regulation of VA 4179 Pilot Board of Victoria and, from 1888, VA 1424 Marine Board.

This series consists of the outwards letter book of the Secretary and Treasurer of No. 2 Pilot Company, based at Queenscliff. Correspondence includes reports to the Board of monthly expenditure and in relation to other matters, correspondence with shipowners and ship's masters pertaining to pilotage and other matters relating to the administration of the Pilot Company such as finance and personnel.

This series was formerly Unit 10 of VPRS 562/P Correspondence Records.
