This series consists of bound volumes containing acquittances form the Commissioners of Audit to the Treasurer, certifying that they have examined accounts in support of payments authorised by Treasurer out of the Public account, and discharging all responsibility and liability on account of such payments.

There are a number of gaps within the sequence of volumes in custody. The existence of volumes outside the date range currently held by PROV is unknown.
