Under section 20 (3) of the Small Claims Tribunals Act 1973 a person to whom payment is to be made may file an enforcement order (an order of the Tribunal forcing a person to pay) with the clerk of a Magistrates Court.Information within the register includes the Small Claims Tribunal claim number, the name of the claimant, the name of the respondent, nature of issue, order of tribunal, date registered, amount to be paid and the date paid (if this occurred).
Although under normal circumstances these records would be destroyed this series has been retained permanently as an example of the varying type of registers created by Magistrates Courts in Victoria.
