This is an artificial series created by the Public Record Office Victoria.

The log books were purchased at a Sydney auction in 1999. Units two to eight are log books maintained on Her Majesty's Colonial War Steamer 'Victoria' also known as Her Majesty's Colonial Steam Sloop 'Victoria'. The 'Victoria' was constructed in London in 1855 and arrived in Melbourne in 1856.

Unit one is identified as the Victorian Naval Training Ship for Boys Register.

The P2 consignment of one further volume of HMCSS 'Victoria' ship's log (November 1856-February 1857) was purchased at auction from Christie's in August 2001.
