Full description

This series consists of inward and outward correspondence from McLeod Prison Farm (VA 2682). Also known as French Island Reformatory Prison, this agency was created in 1916 under the provisions of the Indeterminate Sentences Act 1907 as an Afforestation Camp. The institution was also known as the McLeod Training Centre. It closed in 1975.

These records were transferred as a gift from Jack Dihm, former Governor of the French Island Prison. It would appear that this series is the Governors Correspondence Files from this agency.
