VPRS 11910 Royal Commission Records

Full description

This series brings together records created by a range of Royal Commissions which were presented to the Legislative Assembly but which were not laid on the table of the Assembly upon the conclusion of the Commissions activities. Commission records laid on the table of the Assembly are to be found within VPRS 3253.

In each case the records in this series were lodged with the Assembly by the Royal Commission to facilitate Parliaments consideration of the actions which eminate from the Commissions findings.

The majority of records within this series were created in the course of the investigation undertaken by these Commissions. Although the range of documents created per Commission will vary, the following broad categories of documents will be located in this series:
- Minute Books of meetings held by the Commission.
- Transcripts of public hearings which may have been held during the Commission. Copies of the transcripts, which were forwarded to the various participants for amendment or correction are also included.
- Reports including the final printed copy as presented to Parliament containing the Commission's findings.
