Full description
The State Film Centre was established in December 1946. This record series begins with the State Film Centres first annual report. The State Film Centre commenced as a section of the Premiers Department. Its policy was determined and its activity supervised by the Victorian Documentary Film Council, an independent advisory body which was constituted in 1945 to advise the Government of Victoria on all matters relating to documentary films. From the beginning the State Film Centre produced its own annual reports. The annual reports describe the activities of the organisation during the year concluded. The reports include relevant statistics.
