This series of records deals with a Ministerial review of school entry age undertaken by a consultative committee to the Department in 1990/91. The bulk of the material comprises minutes of the consultative committee and the Issues Working Group as well as submissions to the review from government departments, local government, government and non-government schools, tertiary institutions, unions, organisations, and individuals.

There is also a file of Ministerial correspondence relating to the review, and the Final Report of the consultative committee dated December 1991.
