These records are retained permanently due to the lack of any other apprenticeship and employer details for the time period. The records within this series have been identified as permanent in the Disposal Schedule for Department of Education-Apprenticeship and Traineeship Records (PROS 96/21).

The records within this series constitute the best available record for the period 1976 to 1990. They are the basis on which Certificates of Completion and Extracts are issued.
