This series consists of general correspondence files maintained by the Registry of the Superintendents Office at the Pentridge Prison from 1974 to1997. The files contain inward correspondence, copies of outwards correspondence, internal memoranda and other papers relating to the functions of the Superintendents Office. A large portion of this series relates to the administration of prisoners and the prison itself. Other material includes correspondence relating to matters such as the activities of various committees, finance accounts, and policy decisions.
