VPRS 11404 List of Classified Subject Headings for General Subject Correspondence Files: Multiple Number System

Full description

This series comprises a List of Classified Subject Headings created by the Technical and Further Education Board (TAFE) Board for their portion of General Subject Correspondence Files, Multiple Number System, VPRS 8536. The list covers classified numbers 31-60 only.

There is no date on the record. OTFE is on the spine but it is assumed the list was created for the use of TAFE Board Registry staff (c.1980-1986) as a reference for file creation and file retrieval for VPRS 8536.

The record lists subject headings for each primary, secondary and tertiary heading from number 31/1/1 (TAFE Board Establishment and Membership) to 60/14/1/ (Participation and Equity Publications) for the files in the P2 consignment of VPRS 8536.

There is also a list of standard tertiary numbers of TAFE providers, i.e. TAFE Colleges which were used to control the General Subject Correspondence Files.

The series also includes a list of technical schools which have been reconstituted as TAFE Colleges. The volume lists Region, TAFE College, Schools, and a File no. reference (see VPRS 11381).
