Full description

The committee's function was to oversee the audit programme at the Department and at Government schools. This involved such financial matters as investments, leases, accounts, fees, equipment registers, workcare, salaries, capital works - any financial aspect of the administration of the Department.

Contents of the minutes include the names of those present and apologies from those not present at the meeting, membership matters, minutes of previous meeting, matters arising from the minutes, any reports received, items for discussion, other business, agenda notices, and details of next meeting. Usually attached was a separate page detailing follow-up action to be taken regarding specific agenda items.

Any documentation in support of agenda items will be found attached to the minutes and this documentation in fact comprises the bulk of the records. Supporting documentation has been numbered according to the meeting number and agenda item number, eg. AC 2/95/6 meaning Audit Committee meeting # 2 for 1995, agenda item # 6.
