This series consists of cards containing details of students at the National Gallerys Art School, covering the date range c.1927 1939. The Trustees of the Public Library, Museums and National Gallery (VA 912) provided funds for the Schools of Painting and Design to be opened under the conduct of competent instructors c.1869, although teaching had been taking place at the National Gallery prior to this.The cards for students of the art school record the students name and address. The cards also record the years which students were enrolled at the school and the courses taken (what appears to be a class or subject code is recorded for each term the student was enrolled a key to these codes is not in custody).
