VPRS 10284 Reports

Full description

This series consists of various versions of reports created by the Metropolitan Town Planing Commission. Unfortunately this series was transferred to the archives in a disordered state although it is possible to locate records within it. Research is required to determine the completeness of this series and to establish an order to the records.

Broadly speaking the series consists of the following records:

Units 1- 3 and 6 of the P0 consignment contain letter press copies of various versions of the Commission's 1928 and 1929 reports. This includes drafts, versions produced for the (presumably Commission) Editing and Printing Committees, the Government Printer and file copies. Unit 6 also contains files about the distribution of the final printed report.

Unit 4 of the P0 consignment contains multiple file copies of the Commission's abridged report of 1923 as well as sundry correspondence and printed matter from similar or related bodies in Australia and overseas.

Unit 5 of the P0 consignment contains file and printed copies of other Commission reports, correspondence files mostly about the distribution of these reports and other sundry material.

A printed copy of the Commission's 1925 report and 2 copies of the Commissions printed report titled Plan of General Development 1929 are found in units 1A, 2A and 3A respectively. When originally transferred to archives, these units were numbered volume 1 - volume 3 respectively. The A suffix was added in 1996 to distinguish these from what is now units 1 - 6. (These were originally identified as boxes 1 - 6).
