Correspondence received by the Secondary Schools Division from High Schools throughout the State is filed in this series. Written correspondence (as opposed to returns of forms) has a registered number and may be annotated with notes of action taken and / or the suggested outlines of a reply. Later correspondence may have a carbon copy of the reply attached. Correspondence dealt with such matters as requisitions for school supplies and the forwarding of accounts for payment; teachers' appointments, examinations payments of salary, evaluation by Inspectors and leave; the granting of school holidays; copies of newspaper cuttings about the school and publications by the school; requests for interpretations of Departmental policy; parent and/or community complaints; requests for special assistance or staff and regular returns required by the Education Department.
