Full description

This series is a collection of volumes containing records created between 1876 and 1887 by the Public Works Department (VA 669) to record details relating to the construction of Parliament House. It is apparent that the work was undertaken by contractors, but the Department had a responsibility to determine the contract details and to have oversight of the progress of the work. These records are those created and kept by the Quantity Surveyor.

These records were probably not all kept as a distinct series, but were assembled later into the current collection.
