Victorian Ports Corporation (Melbourne) (VPCM) was the statutory authority created by the Victorian Government following the successful completion of the lease of the commercial operations of the Port of Melbourne. Victorian Ports Corporation (Melbourne) (VPCM) began operating on 1 November 2016 as the successor agency to the Port of Melbourne Corporation (VA 4028).Established under the Transport Integration Act 2010 (Vic) the VPCM was responsible for the management of commercial shipping in Port Phillip, towage regulation, waterside emergency and marine pollution response, and the management of Station Pier cruise ship terminal.
The agency was also responsible for the State-retained business and activities resulting from the leasing of the Port in 2016 as well as the work of the Harbour Master.
VPCM was abolished as it merged with Victorian Regional Channels Authority (VA 5237) to create Ports Victoria (VA 5257) on 1 July 2021.
