Victorian Biodiversity Atlas (VBA) Taxa List

Brief description

This table contains a snapshot list of published taxa names from the Victorian Biodiversity Atlas (VBA). The VERS_DATE (version date) column indicates data currency.

The VBA holds information at many taxa levels, but usually only species level records are included in this table. The exception to this rule are taxa that have records in the VBA even through the taxon has not been resolved to species level.

The main attributes in this table are the current VBA taxon_id, scientific name, common name, authority, family (where relevant), conservation status, origin and taxon type. Where possible, taxon id's have been included that provide a match to the obsolete Atlas of Victorian Wildlife taxaid, and the Flora Infromation System.
