Brief description
On 12 August 2005 Victoria University of Technology officially changed its name to Victoria University. Victoria Polytechnic was launched as Victoria University's TAFE division on 15 December 2015. Works by these bodies are found under the name used at the time of publication.
In the late 1990s Victoria University of Technology changed its name to become Victoria University. The University occupies a number of campuses in Melbourne's western suburbs, as well as in the city centre, and can trace its origins from 1915. VU offers both vocational training and higher education courses and has nine academic colleges, previously known as faculties.
