Full description
This rig (currently in development) consists of an irobot that can be programmed in C++ , with a laser range finder mounted on top. A number of cameras are used to provide video feedback. Researchers and students can create their design using C++ and the Player and Stage libraries on their own pc or the lab server, then upload the design file to the robot using the interface. They then interact with their design which is running in the hardware via the interface; debug the design in real-time and watch the video stream.
This rig is one of the UTS Remote Laboratory facilities, developed as part of the Labshare consortium, to enable students to remotely control laboratory equipment and to perform experiments – similar to what they would do in a classroom setting, but over the internet.
