Also known as: Mathematical modelling of sexually transmitted infections

Researchers: Dr Davidp Wilson (Principal investigator)

Brief description This research will further our understanding of the mechanisms that give rise to the development of Chlamydia within a cell and how it causes disease, ultimately providing targets for drug-vaccine design. This project will also design and evaluate epidemic control strategies to inform policy makers for reducing the incidence and prevalence of sexually transmitted infections. These applications are addressed by developing mathematical models, biophysical theory, and statistical analyses.
