BACKGROUND Sacred and Profane has always been an Art Affair. The French Realist painter Gustave Courbet (A Burial at Ornans, 1849-50) or the contemporary French painter Francois Bard (War is Now, 2018) have been working in this social and political framework context of painting whereas the format of painting or the painted subjects are the main elements for discordance. What if this Sacred and Profane conflict is applied to our global world with its complexity through the large scope of Culture, Belief and Language? CONTRIBUTION Untitled (Les Trois Gras - Benadryl, Maalox and Xylocaine) investigates the duality between Global and Local Culture through the lens of the Art History (Bacon, Rembrandt), Metal Music (Local Indonesian band) and Religion (Christianity and Islam). The main characters are coming from a online found-footage image from Newspapers. Three kids wearing Black Corpse Paint and sweatshirts of a local Indonesian Black Metal band where the main logo is written in Muslim. This is framed by recognizable elements coming from the Art History, the wall-edge of an indoor room (Francis Bacon) and a carcass of beef (Bacon, Rembrandt) standing in the background, creating an ambiguous element amongst carcass or wings. Our teenagers posing proudly with specific Metal genre grimace, sitting on their urban freestyle bicycles (BMX). SIGNIFICANCE Living in a more complex world where global and local encountered at each street corner, Culture is exposed to the fusion of language, sign, context and meaning. Millennials and Generation Z are the main target of this today screened-reality, finding their identity between the fusion of 'beliefs and antidotes' while facing the world with political insights rarely known. The artwork was held at The Factory Contemporary Art Center, at the invitation of the curator as part of "Hoa No" exhibition featuring as part of the Hardcore Vietnam Group in July 2018 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.Issued: 2018
