Full description


The Honourable G B Kerferd was Attorney-General for the State of Victoria from 1874 to 1876, 1880 and from 1883 to 1885 and for a brief time, also Premier. As Attorney-General he received a large amount of correspondence not officially registered in the records of the Crown Law Department (VA 2825), but which was registered within his own office.

This correspondence included courtesy letters, but also requests from citizens for intervention in various matters or seeking appointment to offices and other favours or redress of grievances. Parts of this correspondence were registered in VPRS Registry Book which may provide limited access to this series.
