Brief description

As one of the two parts of Planning Services the main objective of the Institutional Research Unit is to conduct research which supports institutional planning, policy formation and decision making. The activities which contribute to the attainment of this objective include the preparation and presentation of project reports and discussion papers; the preparation and analysis of specific data sets; the design and preparation of measuring instruments (tests, questionnaires, etc); membership of University committees; and the provision of research advice and assistance through discussions, meetings and workshops.

The Institutional Research Unit (IRU) is a service-oriented unit and many of its tasks arise from requests, mainly from University committees and individuals both in the administrative and academic sectors. Some research reports are for general distribution within the University while others are for a specific audience.
