Brief description Vascular dementia (VaD) is the second most common type of dementia. A productive approach to study the determinants of VaD is to examine stroke patients over time. This has been done by many studies world-wide. We have begun to bring these studies together the unique Stroke and Cognition (STROKOG) consortium to develop a collaborative network of researchers (30 studies from 18 countries at present) to harmonise data and perform joint analyses and individual participant data meta-analyses.
