The History Field in this metadata statement describes how this dataset was derived.\n\n\n\nThis dataset shows the extent of the Traralgon FormationT0 and T1 coal seams.\n\n## **Purpose** \n\nCoal seams within the Traralgon Formation are considered to behave as aquitards, limiting vertical connection between the Traralgon (Latrobe Group) aquifer and overlying aquifers. The spatial extent of these coal seams was used to map the regions where vertical hydraulic connection may be interrupted in this way.\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nThe extent of the isopachs in the layers 'TI_isochrom_Hodgate(2000).shp' and 'T2_isochrom_Holdgate(2000).shp' in the dataset (GUID: 05966613-8da7-4124-af6d-964e1210b6ba) were digitised in ESRI ArcMap 10.2 at 1:100,000 scale. \n\n\n\nThe source isopachs were supplied by DSDBI in October, 2014. These isopachs were digitised by DSDBI from Figures 5 and 6 of Holdgate, G. R.,M. W. Wallace,S. J. Gallagher and D. Taylor (2000).
