VPRS 2969 Transcripts of Open Hearings and Printed Report

Full description

This series contains a typewritten transcript of open proceedings held before the Board of Inquiry into Scientology (VA 2625). Occasional annotations of information can be detached suggesting that this particular transcript might have been used by one of the Board Members or administrative staff. Some minor amendments such as corrections of names and places have been made to the transcripts in ballpoint pen.

The Board conducted open hearings over of a period of 160 days between 6 December 1963 and 21 April 1965 spanning 8,203 pages of transcript. A further 717 pages of proceedings that occurred in-camera were also created but are not included in this series. The existence of the in camera transcripts is subject to further research.

Also included in this series is a copy of the Printed Report of the Board as originally published in Papers Presented to Parliament, Session 1965 - 1966 Vol. 2, pages 1025 - 1232. A photocopy of a publication entitled "Kangaroo Court - An Investigation into the Conduct of the Board of Inquiry" is also included; this was published by the Hubbard College of Scientology (1967).
