This dataset was compiled by Dr Richard Tuffin as part of ARC project Landscapes of Production and Punishment (DP170103642). It provides a partial accounting of the number of convicts employed and the type of employment at the Port Arthur penal station, Tasmania (1830-77). This is an active dataset and may be updated as new data is sourced.
This is an active dataset and will updated by the researcher as appropriate. Each version of the dataset has been labelled appropriately for the ease of the user. Further details about this versioning and the dataset itself are available in the attached README file.
