Full description

As part of the 2023/2024 season Voyage V4 resupply, The Mapping Program sent a round trip expeditioner to survey the Isthmus of Macquarie Island station. Part of this survey involved using a RiEGL VZ600i terrestrial laser scanner (TLS) Scanning was conducted across multiple days of the 17 day resupply window in order to achieve as much coverage as possible of the external topography and station infrastructure. The scanner was also deployed for internal scans on bad weather days and ADHOC evenings to supply information on buildings highlighted for upcoming buildings works or strategic information capture. The VZ600i uses an internal GNSS receiver to receive a position, the scans were also supplemented with reflectors as tie points between scans and coordinates for reflectors at the beginning and end of scans.

This record contains the raw unprocessed data from the scanner for the resupply window. See child records for processed products.
