Full description
The Technical Teachers Registration Board was created in accordance with the Education Act 1958 (No.6240), Section 52, A - P and the Education (Teacher Registration) Act 1971 (No.8239). The appendices to the minutes contain listings of all applications from persons who were eligible for, and approved for registration for teaching in technical schools. Also listed are those applications that were refused registration, the reason for refusal, and advice forwarded to applicants to ensure future approval.
There are separate listings for those approvals of applicants with intrastate, interstate, and overseas qualifications. Also contained are separate listings for category registration, ie. as an Instrumental Music Teacher, Librarian, Remedial Support Teacher, etc. Occasionally, there appeared a separate listing headed Special Attention.
Also listed are applications from those persons who failed to provide appropriate documentation within the required time, and those ineligible for registration.
The minutes also record the names of those attending the meeting and apologies from those board members who were absent. The minutes contain confirmation of the minutes from the previous meeting, items of general business for later discussion, business arising from the previous meeting, details of any correspondence received by the board, reports presented to the board from various sub-committees, and any recommendations of the board.
