Full description

This dataset consists of: a colour digital orthophoto of Taylor Rookery; and vector data resulting from 1:5000 scale topographic mapping of Taylor Rookery. The vector data are formatted according to the SCAR Feature Catalogue (see link below).

Progress Code: completed
Statement: The spatial data coverage is complete for the entire dataset. Attribute data are available for the entire dataset. Completeness of classification: the adopted classification method covers all features. Completeness of verification: a topographical consistency check was carried out by the photogrammetrist. The GIS package (ArcInfo) was used to do a topological consistency check to detect flaws in the spatial data structure and to flag them as errors. In 2007 the coastline, areas of exposed rock, lakes and watercourses were digitised by Henk Brolsma (Mapping Officer, Australian Antarctic Division) from the orthophoto. The products of this digitising replaced the original data for these feature types in the dataset.
