Full description

Task Force Graffiti appears to have been established by 27/03/1988, as part of a proactive strategy by the New South Wales Police Service, to reduce street offences such as graffiti, rail crime, violent disorder, and street gang activity. (2)

The Task Force supported Operation Scribbler, a joint operation conducted by State Rail, and the Transit Police between November 1993 and March 1994. Operation Scribbler targeted graffiti offences on the rail system, and led to the arrest of 170 people on 259 charges. In 1993-1994, the activities of the Graffiti Task force also led to the arrest of 153 people on 397 charges. (3)

The Task Force appears to have been disbanded by 25/01/1995.
