Brief description Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is the most prevalent mental condition of childhood and is marked by inattention, hyperactivity and /or impulsivity. We know that ADHD runs in families and thus has a genetic basis, but we are just beginning to unlock the genetic code for ADHD. Understanding how genes give rise to the symptoms of ADHD via their effects across multiple systems - cellular, brain, cognitive or symptoms, will impact diagnosis and personalised treatment approaches.
