The Minister for Public Works appointed the Sydney Harbour Bridge Advisory Board on 25 March, 1901. The Board Comprised the Under Secretary for Works, the Engineer-in-Chief For Railways, the Government Architect, the Engineer for Bridges, Professor Warren (Professor of Engineering at Sydney University) and Mr J.M. Purves. The two latter-named members received payment for each meeting they attended. The purpose of the Board was to select a design and call for tenders for the ‘North Shore Bridge’. The Board reported to Parliament in 1903 and its report was ordered to be printed on 26 November, 1903. It appears that the Board lapsed after this report.User Contributed Tags
