Brief description

A/Prof Suzy Munns is a researcher in Biomedicine at James Cook University. Her research includes respiratory physiology and lung function testing in a range of animal models and in humans. Recent work includes investigating biomarkers for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and exploring the impact of tobacco and biomass smoke on lung function in Papau New Guinea. Research has also included investigations focussed on physiological systems integration, particularily the cardiovacular and respiratory systems during increased demand such as exercise and pregnancy. Studies have also included the field of pedagogy, including designing and evaluating new models to comprehensively support first year students transitioning into University studies.
