Full description
Survey Report and data from Voyage 4 2025/2026 April 2026. Veris (a digital and spatial data consulting firm) was contracted by AECOM (an engineering company) as part of the Macquarie Island Station Project (MISP) to provide survey support services to AECOM and the Australian Antarctic Division. A Veris Surveyor, Michael Fazackerley, attended the island during the 2026 V4 expedition and used a combination of Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) and RTK GNSS (Real-Time Kinematic Global Navigation Satellite Systems) techniques/equipment. The survey information delivered would need to meet or exceed standard Feature and Level accuracy specifications. Those being a positional uncertainty of ±0.025m RMS or better. All measurements were then returned to ‘Grid’ coordinates to align with previous surveys and survey datums. Surveys conducted: terrestrial laser scan and feature and level survey of station footprint and a feature and level survey of gadgets gully dam / weir. Deliverables include 3D Point Clouds in LAS and LSGX format of the terrestrial laser scans of the station precinct and the Science building, Biology building, Machinery shed, Green Shed and Boat shed. Feature and level survey from RTK GNSS data collection is delivered by plan in PDF and DWG format. Aerial imagery is derived from previous AAD lidar survey of May 2025. The work also compiles survey from bathymetric lidar from May 2025.Lineage
