Brief description Memory loss can occur as a result of injuries or disease such as Alzheimer's disease, the fourth biggest killer in developed countries. Currently there is no effective treatment for memory loss. This proposal concerns the biochemical investigation of a protein involved in memory and possibly diabetes. This work is expected to provide an understanding of how this protein functions in the body and will form the basis for the design of drugs for the treatment of memory loss.
