Brief description

This is the near-real time STORM SHOC hydrodynamic model data. It aims to provide coastal marine modelling of south-east Tasmania, including the Huon and Derwent Estuaries, D'Entrecasreaux Channel and Storm Bay

DISCLAIMER: This products is under development and is for demonstration purposes only. CSIRO accepts no responsibility for any subsequent use of the modelling results provided

Lineage

This high resolution model is capable of supplying output at ~100 m resolution within the estuaries and increasing to ~2 km offshore. It is nested within the SETAS SHOC hydrodynamic regional model. This SETAS model is nested directly into the global model, which resolves the Australasian region at 10 km, and supplies sea level, temperature and salinity on the open boundaries. The model is forced with river flow from the Huon and Derwent Rivers, and uses ACCESS atmospheric products for surface flux specification
