Red Cliffs South East State School was opened as an adjunct to the Red Cliffs State School on 4 February 1935 with 17 pupils.
In October 1935 the schools were moved to a new permanent three-acre site in Dumosa Road, Red Cliffs in the Parish of Mildura with the school building having been moved from Willah. The school was re-opened by Chief Inspector, J.T. Saxon
Later the school was renamed Stewart after the Right Honorable P.J. Stewart, MLA.
In 1993 the school was closed and merged with Red Cliffs Primary School.
