This dataset was compiled from records held at [Queensland State Archives](https://www.qld.gov.au/recreation/arts/heritage/archives): series relating to steam locomotive drawings, [Series 17695](http://www.archivessearch.qld.gov.au/Search/SeriesDetails.aspx?SeriesId=17695), and to railway plans and sections, [Series 17676](http://www.archivessearch.qld.gov.au/Search/SeriesDetails.aspx?SeriesId=17676) and [Series 17692](http://www.archivessearch.qld.gov.au/Search/SeriesDetails.aspx?SeriesId=17692), as kept by the Railway Department, now Queensland Rail, during the period 1864 to 1999.
