Data calculated for State of the Tropics report from original source: United Nations Population Division, Department of Economic and Social Affairs - World Population Prospects: the 2012 Revision. Projections and calculations based on median population growth and the assumption that the proportion of the population living in tropical regions of large nations that straddle the tropics remains constant.
