Full description

The State Insurance Office (SIO) was established under the State Insurance Office Act 1975 as a successor to both the State Accident Insurance Office and the State Motor Car Insurance Office.

Under the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority Act 1996 (No. 11/1996, s. 33(c), the Authority became the successor in law of the SIO. Under s. 33(d), SIO ceased to exist on the commencement of this section. (The Act was assented to on 25 June 1996.)
