Standing Review and Advisory Committee on Infertility

Full description

The Committee was a statutory body established under the Infertility Medical Procedures) Act 1984 to provide advice to the Minister for Health on IVF and infertility issues. It was responsible for considering, and could approve applications to carry out experimental procedures, as defined in the Act, involving the use of human gametes and embryos. It also provided and annual report to the Minister for Health, for tabling in the Victorian Parliament.

The Committee was abolished by the Infertility Treatment Act 1995 and its functions were transferred to the Infertility Tretment Authority VA 4057.
