Full description

This series contains records relating to Sponsored European migrants employed by the Victorian Railways during the period ?1951 to ?1979. The sponsored migrants arrived under contract of service with the Department of Railway for two years. They were also under an agreement to repay the Commissioners the amount advanced for the passage and other expenses involved in their movement to Australia.

The series includes:

- Notes on interviews with migrants,
- Lists of migrants employed,
- Personnel records relating to their employment, transfer, leave,
- Fare agreements,
- Correspondence regarding recovery of passage money from migrants.
