The images were georeferenced in ArcGIS using the Australian Antarctic Territory coastline 2003 created by Geoscience Australia (see metadata record AAT_Coastline_2003). The tiff images with a related world file were saved. 4. Penguin colonies were digitised in ArcMap 8.3. by Nicole Seiler.5. The penguin colony data was matched to the Feature Catalogue and given a dataset id of 243. Full description

A spatial dataset (polygons digitised from aerial photography) showing locations of penguin colonies at southern Vincennes Bay, Antarctica.

Aerial photography was taken with a Zeiss UMK 1318 camera on 2-Dec-1993. The images show penguin colonies at Vincennes Bay (Cape Nutt, Hudson Island, Ivanoff Head, Davis Islands, Mallory Point).
